You rearranged the classroom. You swapped rigid bins for open baskets, trusted the loose parts in the block corner, and gave children the quiet space to immerse themselves in unhurried play. The environment feels open and alive.
And then you stand back with your notebook, watching the unfolding moments, and that familiar internal friction surfaces:
“Now what am I actually supposed to do
with what I’m seeing?”
Capturing photographs and scribbling quick notes is easy. Knowing which subtle interactions hold genuine cognitive depth—and how to weave them into meaningful curriculum journeys without breaking the magic of play—is the real art.
— Notes from the Atelier
The Revisiting Journeys Framework™ isn't a checklist of crafts or sensory table setups. It's a deliberate shift — from documenting what children do, to noticing what they're actually thinking. In this workshop, you'll get a first look at the NOTICE sequence: a simple, six-move practice for staying with a child's play long enough for something you might have missed to become visible.

Revisiting Journeys was written by two educators who have spent their careers doing exactly what this workshop asks of you: staying close to children, and staying curious about their thinking.

Author, researcher, co-founder of Revisiting Journeys Studio. An award-winning author and researcher in early childhood education, Miriam co-authored Revisiting Journeys and has spent her career helping educators see children's thinking, not just their play.

Co-author, co-founder of Revisiting Journeys Studio. With decades in early childhood classrooms and pedagogical leadership, Jessie co-authored Revisiting Journeys and brings that same close attention to every session inside the Studio.
"The child did not change.
What changed was what you became able to see."
Every registered educator receives our printable Reflective Guide. Designed specifically for the realities of early learning environments, this two-page companion helps you transform spontaneous child-led moments into structured, shareable learning stories.
Begin With Your Own Looking: Four reflective prompts to notice your own assumptions about play — nobody collects this, it's just for you
Choose One Child, Notice One Return: Three questions to carry with you for a week, focused on a single child and a single idea that keeps returning
A NOTICE Exploration: A six-move practice — Notice, Observe, Trace, Interpret, Continue, Extend — to slowly explore what one child is thinking, one day at a time
Delivered instantly as a print-ready PDF • Zero preparation required
Everything you need to know before joining. We believe in complete transparency so you can participate with total presence and peace of mind.
This live experience is tailored specifically for all early childhood educators, who've already made the shift to play-based practice and are ready to go deeper into what children's play is actually telling them. No advanced framework experience is necessary — just curiosity about children's thinking."
This workshop runs live three times — Saturday, Monday, and Thursday — specifically so you have more than one chance to join. Pick whichever date and time works best for your schedule when you register. If none of the three end up working, you’ll still receive the free companion workbook, and you’ll be the first to know about future sessions.
No — this is a live-only experience with no recording or replay available afterward. We’ve designed it this way intentionally, to keep the session interactive and present rather than something to catch up on later. That’s also why we’re offering three separate live times, to make attending live as accessible as possible.
The workshop and the companion Reflective Guide are both completely free. During the live session, we’ll also share an optional paid resource for educators who want to go deeper into this practice — but there’s no cost to register, attend, or receive your Reflective Guide.
Saturday, Monday, or Thursday — choose the time that works, and we'll see you there.
